Comitatus 2026

I will be publishing a new edition of Comitatus Dark Age Rules next year.

The first proof is back from the printers and it is looking good although there are still errors to correct. Over the next few months I will be doing more play-testing before a final revision and publication.

This new edition incorporates the amendments I made in 2021 which brings Comitatus into line with my other rule sets, using dice rather than factors to resolve combat. This  greatly speeds up play and reduces the need for calculations.  I have also streamlined the sequence of play to make the game flow better, drawing from some of the ideas that have worked well in my more recent rules such as Tree of Battles and Alala!.

My next play-test will be Meshike with 15mm Persians v Romans in the 3rd C AD.
